Are your pets Rabies vaccines up to date?? It’s a simple step to ensure protection!!
I’ve even had mine!! That’s right! I was exposed during a clinical rotation by an unvaccinated dog ( Boston Terrier), and had post exposure Rabies vaccines. Don’t expose your family and pets to this!! Just vaccinate against it!

Oklahoma seeing more cases of rabies than previous years, health department says
Vet med is never easy. And so much harder now in the face of Covid and the ever changing rules of spacing.
We don’t like the restrictions, we don’t like curbside, but it helps to keep everyone safer. We are following AVMA , CDC, and monitoring our own families health and restrictions.

I am a veterinarian.
I work long hours. I work hard hours.
My hair is often pulled back. My clothes are often dirty.
I am on the floor to take my time and make my patient feel comfortable. I am standing tall and looking you in the eyes to ensure I will take the very best care of your best friend.
I am up early mornings giving 100% of my effort to stand by my oath and do what is right in some of the most difficult decisions. I am up late nights eating dinner on the surgery table giving 100% to come up with a treatment plan when I just want to go home and lay down.
I get praised. I get yelled at.
I know what it’s like to lose your furry friend so I open my heart and pour it out to treat you how I would want to be treated. Then I put on my best smile and rinse, wash and repeat for the next room.
Day in and day out I see suffering animals. Day in and day out I stand witness to the love and bond between people and their pets.
Sometimes I have to deliver good news. Sometimes I have to deliver bad news.
Sometimes I have to convince you to do diagnostics that you don’t think are necessary just so I can do my job.
Sometimes you don’t want to pay and I have to use my detective skills and still try and do the best medicine.
Sometimes you give me the reins and ask me to do anything in my power to save your pet when there is nothing left for me to do but pray.
Sometimes I have to take a deep breath at the surgery table and tell myself that I am capable.
Sometimes I walk out of the clinic feeling like a hero.
I am putting my feelings aside on a daily basis to put my oath for animals first.
I am a veterinarian.
I am a community of veterinarians.
I am a community of humans doing our best for animals and their humans.
I am standing up to say not one more vet.
Be kind to your veterinarian.
We worked our whole lives to be “doctor” but before that we were human and continue to want to be.
There is a crisis in veterinary medicine. The CDC reports that male and female veterinarians commit suicide 2.1 and 3.5 times more often than the national average, respectively. The above was copied and shared from a veterinary support group by a friend and I invite you to read it. I also ask that next time you visit the vet, to be kind and maybe tell them thank you. You may end up being be the bright light on a dark day.

Closed for the weekend from Saturday through Monday. We will be back open Tuesday morning by appointment.
Everyone enjoy Labor Day, and be safe.
If you trust us to be your Veterinarian, treat, perform surgeries, abide by our recommendations for the best interest of your pet, board your pet for holiday weekends, why is there a push back for us taking your pet into our clinic during curbside? We will take all precautions to protect and love your pet. And believe it or not, some of the normally “bad” kids actually do great when mom/dad aren’t around. They bond to us during that time and are able to place their own trust in us.

This is what’s happening during curbside vet visits. This is what happens when you leave your fur baby with the vet techs. We hold your babies. We baby talk them. We know they are scared without you. We comfort them ❤️
Pets don’t understand COVID restrictions, but they know you aren’t with them, so we step in to make the normally scary experience not be quite as traumatizing.
Just know that when you drop them off at the door there is someone inside to love on them, hug them, and tell them that everything’s going to be alright 😊
**this big boy is Axle and he was terrified of the clinic cats. While he was waiting patiently for his nails to be trimmed a kitty walked by and scared him. He climbed in my lap and asked me to hold him, I of course was happy to help**
*Edit: WOAH! I had no idea this would be such a big deal. Thank you all for the sweet word. I hope that I have given you all some comfort**
And for us, 1 doctor , 4 office staff members. AND school starts , so we either have kids in school or may be in school. Our protocol and procedures may change daily. If one gets called due to a sick kid, we go down staff members quickly. In any given day we may 3-5 planned surgeries, 10-15 planned appointments, and 10-15 drop offs. We only have a 9 hour work day.
This is a great visual explanation.

My reality as a veterinarian right now. Anyone else short staffed and trying to do more then ever?!?
This is a video to explain our experience to clients, and hopefully foster kindness and patience!
Enjoy. 👍.
Hey wonderful people!! So the next couple weeks, there are a few dates we will be closed due to scheduling.
Wednesday July 29
Saturday August 1
Wednesday August 5.
We are remaining curbside at this time, and not allowing clients in the building or rooms, except for euthanasia cases.
We have increased the amount of surgeries and daily caseload to accommodate everyone, but please understand when you call, we most likely will not have an opening for a week or two. Also remember, appointments are not new, as we are almost a year into appointment scheduling at the clinic.
Facebook is also being tricky and not notifying us to incoming messages for 24-48 hours, so if you have questions or need to set up an appointment, please call the clinic.
For those affected by Covid, and quarantined, we can easily get your pet meds or pet food by ordering from our online pharmacy from our website and it can be shipped directly to your home.
Everyone stay safe!
With power going off/on and limbs coming down everywhere, we will be CLOSED Tuesday October 27.
Thanks everyone!
Happy Holidays everyone and Merry Christmas. 🎄
We will be closing at noon on Christmas Eve and be closed until Monday Dec. 28.
We will also be closed New Years Day and will reopen Monday Jan 4.
Everyone stay safe! And A huge THANK YOU!! to all of you, who have been great clients and understanding through this crazy year!
