In 2012, Westfield North County celebrated the opening of a 150,000-square-foot, multilevel Target with a grocery section and pharmacy. The property's revitalization featured a remodeled dining court, as well as unprecedented design and décor enhancements. In close proximity to Westfield North County are some of the most desirable residential communities in northern San Diego County, such as Rancho Bernardo, Poway, Escondido, Scripps Ranch, San Marcos, and Rancho Santa Fe. In addition, the center enjoys great visibility from the area's principal regional thoroughfare (I-15), and shares the same highway exit as the world-famous San Diego Zoo Safari Park. All of us at Westfield North County are disappointed at the cancellation of the California Center for the Arts, Escondido’s Drive-In arts and culture program at the center. We, along with all of the parties involved, worked collaboratively to try to identify options to continue the program, but unfortunately were not able to arrive at a solution that satisfied the California Center for the Arts needs in relocating the event to another area of the center. We want to thank the California Center for the Arts, Escondido for their work to bring arts programming to the community during this unprecedented time, as well as Salon Republic , Salon Republic Escondido and our other tenants who worked with us to find a resolution – while it is unfortunate that a suitable location was not found for this event, Westfield North County is committed to working with the community to bring dynamic arts and cultural programs to the center.
