About Usha George, MD
Usha George, MD, is a family practice physician with board certification from the American Board of Family Practice. She runs her family medicine practice from her two New York office locations in Valley Stream and Huntington Melville.
Dr. George has practiced family medicine for over 35 years. She graduated from Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in Pondicherry, India, in 1977. In 1978, she moved to New York for an internship at the Metropolitan Hospital Center in East Harlem, New York City, before completing a residency at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, New York, in 1981.
Dr. George warmly welcomes new patients to her offices and strives to make everyone, from baby to senior, feel comfortable as soon as they arrive.
Adopting an integrative approach to medicine, Dr. George combines conventional and holistic medicine to address her patient’s health and wellbeing, finding it an effective action plan when treating hypertension and diabetes. Her patients come from all over east New York to consult with her on conditions ranging from cardiovascular health to osteoporosis. She provides support and guidance on weight loss techniques and ensures their ongoing health with annual physical exams.
Dr. George is well-respected within the family medicine field. She has published several research articles in peer-reviewed publications and educates physician assistants and residents. Her hospital affiliations include Long Island Jewish Valley Stream, Mercy Medical Center, and South Nassau Communities Hospital – all in New York.
