Did You Know.... Harry G. Woodhouse came to Victoria, Texas in 1865 and worked as a conductor for the Southern Pacific Railroad. The railroad had tracks that ran directly through Victoria, so Mr. Woodhouse decided to put down some roots and make this his permanent residence for himself and his family. In 1910 construction began on the house where they remained for 70 years. While living in Victoria, he became a successful farmer and served several terms on the City Council. His home, which is now a Texas Historical Landmark became the first ever Woodhouse Day Spa after it was purchased and refurbished by the original founders in 2001. How did you get your name?
