The Country Vet is a full service small animal veterinary hospital providing the most advanced medical, surgical, and dental care as well as holistic therapies such as Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Cold Laser Therapy, Prolotherapy, V.O.M. and Homeopathy.

Dr. Jim Codington has created a practice that emphasizes the importance of meeting the needs of each individual patient. We understand that needs and concerns vary and strive to meet each as they arise. He and his associates, Dr. Nick Morphopoulos and Dr. Kathleen Olson, work together to provide the best quality veterinary care possible.

Comprehensive Physical Examination/Consultation

Unlike many veterinary hospitals whose appointment slots are 10 to 15 minutes, our appointments are booked out every 30 minutes. In this 30 minute appointment, the doctor will get a thorough history regarding your pet's health and behavior and perform a comprehensive physical examination. Our longer appointments allow ample time to answer most (if not all) of your questions.

Surgical Services

Our surgical suite allows us to perform a variety of surgical procedures. We perform surgeries every day of the week that range from spays and neuters to exploratory abdominal surgeries, endoscopies and splenectomies.

All surgeries are performed with the most modern anesthetics. Monitoring of all parameters of our anesthetized patients is performed using sophisticated human hospital grade equipment measuring heart rate, internal temperature, and oxygen saturation of the red blood cells, as well as pulse and respiration rate.

Electrocardiography (E.C.G./E.K.G.)

A continuous E.K.G. is also employed for the safety of your pet undergoing a surgical procedure.

We provide E.C.G. services on-site. Our veterinarians can evaluate your pet's heart in several ways. One valuable indicator of heart function is the measurement of the heart's electric
