Heads up, motorists! Traffic shift ahead on M-24!
On Friday, Aug. 21, M-24's single southbound lane between Burdick St. and just north of Drahner Rd. is going to shift from the west side of the road (where it is now) to the freshly-paved east side of the road (i.e. the northbound lanes), according to MDOT Construction Engineer Brian Travis. This will allow crews to begin construction on M-24's southbound lanes (the west side of the road).
This shift will remain in effect until the M-24 project is complete in mid-November.
Please note: Northbound traffic will continue to be prohibited on M-24, while southbound traffic will still be restricted to one lane.
M-24's single southbound lane between Burdick St. and Gateway Dr. to the north is expected to undergo the same type of shift sometime in September, according to Travis.
Special thanks to Brett Knapp, owner of Red Knapp's American Grill, for allowing the township to continue to shoot photos from the roof of his downtown restaurant.

Good news! The west side of the M-24/Burdick St. intersection in downtown Oxford has reopened. It closed at 7 a.m. this morning to allow workers from Dan's Excavating, Inc. to continue installing a new 7,065-foot sanitary sewer line for the township. When finished, the 18-inch-diameter pipe will run from Oakdell Road to Gateway Drive. Special thanks to longtime local Pharmacist Tim Davidson, a 1975 Oxford High School graduate, for letting us shoot photos from the second story of 1 S. Washington St.
We will be closed Nov 19 thru Nov 23 due to Covid.
Opening November 24th.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
