Dr. Steven Applebaum is a hematologist and medical oncologist who sees patients with all types of cancer and blood disorders in the UCLA Health Pasadena office. He has practiced in the office for more than 20 years, and has a specialized interest in research and enrolling patients in clinical trials.
Dr. Applebaum received his medical degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. He then completed both his internal medicine residency and his hematology and medical oncology fellowship at Harbor – UCLA Medical Center. He earlier earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from University of California, San Diego. He is board certified in hematology and medical oncology.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Applebaum is an associate clinical professor in the Division of Hematology-Oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
When he’s not working, Dr. Applebaum enjoys training for and running marathons, reading, and spending time with his family.
