As a constantly moving part, drawers take a lot of use and abuse. Therefore, Wood-Mode drawer boxes are constructed with dovetail joints, a much stronger and durable corner construction. Its interlocking routs have a larger glue surface than tennon construction meaning no metal fasteners are required.

For some of the unseen areas of the cabinet, we use plywood, a much stronger, lighter and more durable option than particle board. Plywood is made of laminated cross grain layers of material glued together While particle board is composed of chips or pieces of wood held together with glue.

KNOW YOUR CABINETRY:
We use kiln-dried lumber which is dried to a moisture content of 6%-8%. This helps us produce a high quality product that is essentially free of warping, splits and cracks. It also allows us to produce a highly consistent and durable finish. In contrast, green lumber has a high moisture content which allows the wood to shrink after assembly as it slowly loses moisture. This causes splits and unsightly cracks in the finish.
