School of Rock has proudly partnered with Independent Venue Week in the efforts to help save our stages. Independent Venue Week is taking place between October 24 - 30. This year they are hosting a fundraiser to benefit the NIVA Emergency Relief Fund, a fund dedicated to providing a financial lifeline to the venues and promoters suffering from catastrophic revenue loss. Hosted as an eBay for Charity auction, the Independent Venue Week fundraiser will donate net proceeds directly to the NIVA Emergency Relief Fund through the Giving Back Fund. These venues play such an important role in our student's musical journeys. School of Rock, LLC has made a donation to the relief fund, helping to promote Independent Venue Week, and we are donating items to their silent auction to help fund the NIVA Emergency Relief Fund.

School of Rock student Lauren Frihauf made her debut on this season of NBC’s 'The Voice’. The 16-year-old singer from School of Rock Auroura performed Melissa Etheridge’s “Come to My Window” during the audition round of the show. ‘Voice’ judges Gwen Stefani and John Legend both turned their chairs, indicating they wanted Frihauf on their team this season, where they will coach and mentor the young singer. Frihauf chose Stefani as her coach for the season. “I can’t believe you’re 16,” Stefani said. “You’re like my dream person to work with on this show.”

Great time at the 8th Annual Red White and Blues Festival! We are thankful to have been asked to participate in this annual fundraiser (this year the event supported the Palm Beach County Food Bank). Lots of great music by all the bands in attendance. Special thanks to Rick Rothschild of School of Rock North Palm Beach and School of Rock South Palm Beach for his vision on how to create a safe event for our players in this challenging environment and his hard work setting up for the show. And shoutout to BBurny Pelsmajer of School of Rock Coral Springs, School of Rock Fort Lauderdale, School of Rock Pompano Beach, and School of Rock West Broward for providing and running sound all day long. This year, we will be collecting canned goods to donate to the Palm Beach County Food Bank. Food will be available for purchase from the Bagel Boys food truck or bring your own coolers.

Often, new students join School of Rock having never participated in team activities. Being in a band helps children develop many of the social skills they will need for life.
