Dr. Santa-Cruz is a fellowship-trained, board-certified Urologic surgeon who specializes in robotic surgery for prostate, kidney and bladder cancers. He also performs robotic pelvic organ prolapse surgery. He is interested in minimally invasive techniques that treat male and female urinary incontinence, BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) and sexual dysfunction.
Dr. Santa-Cruz received his Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA and graduated cum laude. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, FL. He completed his residency in Urologic Surgery from Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. His fellowship is in Urologic Oncology & Laparoscopy from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, in Chapel Hill, NC and Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC.
He is a member of the American Urology Association and the Society of Robotic Surgery. Dr. Santa-Cruz is a published author with articles on minimally invasive kidney surgery techniques. In his free time, he enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his wife and children. He likes spending his evenings with his family and their pet rabbit, Pearl.
