Prairie Shores is excited to announce the rollout of our new E-Learning Resource Centers in buildings 2851 and 2951. We know you need the right environment to study and build lesson plans and we want to help.
Stations are regularly cleaned and can be reserved in 4-hour blocks. Chromebooks are available and free WiFi is provided.

This week, Governor Pritzker announced that all of Illinois will enter Tier 3 resurgence mitigations beginning Friday, November 20. Based on the increased restrictions, Prairie Shores reduced capacity in our gym and closed our resident lounges.
As always, the health and well-being of our residents and team members continue to be our most important priority. We would like to also take this time to remind you to limit gatherings in your home and that a face covering is required at all times anywhere outside of your apartment home in our community.
We will continue to update our residents on any additional impact this has on our community and management office.

Happy Black History Month,
Did you know that the origins of Black History Month can be traced directly to our very own neighborhood of Bronzeville? In 1915 a group of African American intellectuals led by historian Carter G. Woodson formed an association to honor black history. They met at the historic Wabash YMCA in Bronzeville.
Over the next decade, Woodson grew the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History. In 1926, he designated the second week of February as Negro History Week, the forerunner of Black History Month, because it coincided with Abraham Lincoln's birthdays (Feb. 12) and Frederick Douglass (Feb. 14), which black communities had celebrated for decades.
