Dr. Kenney moved to Rapid City in 2017 after practicing in Atlanta for 8 years. He is a General Surgeon specializing in robotic surgery with the da Vinci Surgical System. He is the Robotic Surgery Program Director at Monument Health, as well as the Breast Program Director at the John T. Vucurevich Cancer Care Institute. Dr. Kenney specializes in minimally invasive surgeries, and is experienced in hernia repairs, complex abdominal wall hernia reconstruction, hiatal hernia repairs, anti-reflux surgery, "scar-less" single incision gallbladder removal, and minimally invasive surgery of the gastrointestinal tract. His practice also encompasses other areas of general surgery including trauma surgery, thyroid surgery, parathyroid surgery and breast surgery, for both cancerous and non-cancerous conditions. Dr. Kenney has a down-to-earth approach to surgical care with his patients, in part from his 16 years of service in the United States Army as both an enlisted soldier and physician. He is very enthusiastic about surgery and is quick to crack jokes with his patients.
