We all have our own ways that we pay respect, but its through art that many of us who are in this industry find comfort and choose to honor our heroes. We just received a shipment of wind instrument bell covers from Protec. With band programs slowly reintegrating in-person classes, it may become more important to have an extra laver of protection to slow the spread of aerosols. These covers are hand washable and reusable.

This Thursday, November 19, Joseph Alessi will be doing a clinic on practice and performance on ShiresTV via Facebook Live. We encourage all brass players or any musician for that matter check out what Mr. Alessi has to present.
Another event to keep an eye out for is for Seattle Symphony principal trombonist, Ko-ichiro Yamamoto's clinic on December 10th.

We are always extremely thankful to the community for their support throughout the years, but 2020 has made us appreciate everyone that much more. We've been so humbled by the generosity of our friends & patrons who have continued to support us and other small businesses despite the financial, emotional & physical toll this year has taken on us all. Some went as far as to recognize that it may be a little cheaper elsewhere, but insisted that they wanted to shop local. We’ve also been so touched by the stories you’ve told us of how you took up a new instrument during the stay-at-home-order or got on a Zoom call and helped out your co-worker's kid that plays the cello because you played a little in high school. These stories really brighten our day so please keep them coming. We’d love it if you would comment and tell us something small that you did or someone did for you that brightened your day. No act is too small and you never know how big of a difference it can make for someone. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone and take care!

Today we would like to introduce you to two wonderful bows made by German master bow maker and restorer, Sebastian Dirr. Mr. Dirr apprenticed & eventually worked in the workshops of Roderich Paesold as a bow maker for seven years. After completing his examinations, he worked in the workshop of Richard Grünke and ultimately opened his own shop in 2001 in Erlangen, Germany.
The Julian and Ouchard models pictured are two of the most popular bows we carry from a contemporary bow maker.

3 years after the move from Kaka'ako, we're still finding items that were boxed and presumed lost in the move. This weekend I found this awesome silver-plated, 2-screw Selmer Paris tenor sax ligature and it's going to remain at $33.95 which is the same price it was 3 years ago.
