About

Josh Biberdorf, DC, brings more than 20 years of experience in holistic medicine and chiropractic care to Mountain View Chiropractic in Rapid City, South Dakota, serving patients throughout Pennington County.
Dr. Biberdorf always knew he wanted to be a medical doctor. As a child, he often joined his mom–a registered nurse–on insurance physicals, watching her take blood pressure, draw blood, and write-up patient histories.
During his senior year of high school and freshman year of college, Dr. Biberdorf shadowed medical doctors to get a better idea of what the career entails. By this time, he was passionate about exercising regularly, eating a healthy diet, and living a wellness lifestyle. However, he noticed that the doctors all had a similar treatment protocol: Listen to a patient’s symptoms and prescribe them medication. Dr. Biberdorf wasn’t comfortable with this approach because of his anti-medicine and wellness lifestyle, so he decided to start shadowing different types of doctors.
He found a chiropractor in Minot, North Dakota, and on his first day in the office, Dr. Biberdorf experienced his first chiropractic adjustment. The adjustment and the chiropractor’s commitment to eating properly, exercising regularly, and living a healthy lifestyle, hooked Dr. Biberdorf.
Over time with chiropractic adjustments, he also noticed that the headaches he experienced since adolescence regularly subsided. He no longer had to lie in a dark room with an ice pack frequently until the pain went away.
Dr. Biberdorf wondered how this was possible, so he asked his chiropractor mentor. He explained that that the nervous system controls the human body, but an interruption in the nerve flow, or subluxation, can cause negative effects throughout the body. Chiropractic helps heal the body by releasing nerve interference and reducing inflammation with innate intelligence. Thanks to the inspiration of this great chiropractor, Dr. Biberdorf decided to pursue a career in the field.

Since entering private practice, Dr. Biberdorf has helped thousands of patients address chronic musculoskeletal pain in the back and neck, headaches, and whiplash, to name a few common conditions, through patient-centric chiropractic care. He is the only chiropractor in the Rapid City area who offers treatment with the Activator MethodⓇ, and he also offers MyoVisionⓇ – the EKG for spinal health. Dr. Biberdorf also utilizes his passion and expert knowledge in nutrition and wellness to help patients live happy, healthy, and active lives.
Dr. Biberdorf proudly holds membership in the South Dakota Chiropractors Association, the International Chiropractic Association, and the Black Hills Chiropractic Association. He welcomes patients of all ages who seek holistic, integrative chiropractic treatment to Mountain View Chiropractic.

Getting adjusted by a chiropractor is a lot like riding a bike. 🚴‍♀️ It can take a few adjustments when you first begin before things really start to click. ☺️ There can be some bumps and bruises along the way. 👀 However, once you experience pain relief or an improved condition after chiropractic care – you’ll never forget it. ♾️ So – let’s ride!
Sometimes happiness is a feeling. Sometimes it's a decision.
𝙄𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙨 𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮. A patient who has undergone a series of care with us reports that the problem they initially presented with is improving. 🙌 But that’s not the only thing they’ll say. 🤔 We hear things like: “I didn’t know that my stomach problems would feel better.” 🤷 “I just felt like I was always in a fog before, but now I don’t.” 🌤 “I didn’t mention my other problem because I didn’t think you guys could help, but that’s better too!” 💯 Sometimes a patient sees such tremendous improvement that they look at us in amazement and says “What on Earth just happened?!” 🌍 Chiropractic is an amazing thing and we’ll never undervalue what the human body can do when it’s operating at it’s peak. If you haven’t experienced chiropractic, consider this your invitation! 📨

Are you like most people who run out of time ⌚️ before they run out of things to do ❓ If you don’t prioritize physical health and exercise, it’s likely buried on your list of things that you feel you should do – but don’t get done. The beauty of physical exercise is that it doesn’t have to take an hour out of your day. 🏋 In fact, research has shown tremendous health benefits of working out in 5 minutes (or less)! 🖐 If you have never tried a high-intensity workout before – it’s worth the small-time investment. To start, pick 1 or 2 exercises. Then perform one of them non-stop for 20 seconds. Rest for 40 seconds. Then repeat the exercise. 🔁 Do this for 5 rounds. As you improve, you can choose harder exercises, perform them for longer time periods, and rest shorter in between. Your heart 💓 will be racing, your muscles firing, and you’ll leave that 5-minute period feeling invigorated and proud of what you’ve accomplished. 🧠
I eat healthy because my body is important to me.
Motion is so important to our health that a lack of motion can affect your immune system, digestive system, emotional wellbeing, our ability to concentrate and how well we sleep.
Raise your hand if you’ve ever rolled your ankle? 🙋 Keep your hand in the air if you’ve rolled that same ankle again! 🙋 It’s common to resprain an ankle that has been previously injured. An ankle sprain is a stretching and tearing of ligaments holding the bones of the ankle together. 🦶 If full healing of the ligaments does not take place, the ankle loses stability and strength. 💪 There’s one pesky bone in the ankle that becomes misaligned when an ankle sprain occurs. If proper alignment isn’t restored in the ankle – the ligaments can only heal so much. A chiropractic adjustment to the ankle restores proper alignment and biomechanics. This creates the best environment for the body to fully heal. 💯

When it matters most, your body needs to perform. 💪 Whether it’s preparing for a big work deadline. 📈 Getting dialed in for the big game. 🏈 Or capitalizing on some quality time with loved ones. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Your body needs to be at its best when it matters most. That’s why we’re here. 🤝 Don’t let pain ruin the moments where you need your body the most. 🙌
Don't assume you are stuck with the way things are now. Life changes, and so can you.

𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐲 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤? An achy, breaky back? ❌ If you do, you’re not alone! In fact, the majority of people that experience an episode of back pain have one or more recurring episodes. 🔢 It’s common for your achy back to become an achy, breaky back. In a majority of the cases, multiple small things have to go wrong first to suffer a back injury. That means, multiple small things have to be fixed, restored, and improved to ensure the same injury doesn’t reoccur. That’s why chiropractic care is so critical in the healing process and to create a healing, protective environment. If you continue to suffer with episodes of back pain – chiropractic care is a tremendous option for you.
Good sleeping posture is as important as good standing and sitting posture. Try to maintain ear, shoulder, hip and ankle alignment while laying down.

The word “𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙡” really took a hit last year. So much so, that we think it’s best to leave that word in the past for good! Don’t seek out a “𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙡” this year. Find your extraordinary. Be 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡. You’re worth so much more than “normal”!

Feeling stiff getting out of bed every morning isn’t normal. 🙅‍♂️ A lot of people will use the phrase “my normal” or “it’s normal for me.” There’s a difference between “common” and “normal.” It’s 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙤𝙣 to be stiff in the morning, but it doesn’t need to be 𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙡. Spinal misalignments can create inflammation that pools in the evening, leaving you with a stiff feeling waking up. 🛌 We’ve helped a ton of people get rid of their “normal” stiffness – and we’d love to do the same with you!
There’s nothing worse than being confused. 😵 And life can be confusing. But, sometimes – being confused is a choice. 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲. Do not choose to be confused. What’s the obvious action you need to take? Most instances you know what needs to be done – you may be confused because you’re people pleasing, worried about what others think, or you’re scared of doing the right thing!

True or False. ❓ If you want to get in better physical shape – all it takes is a jump rope. 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥, 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞! Something as simple as jumping rope can be the ticket to improving your physical fitness. 💪 Health isn’t complicated. 🙅 Simplicity and consistency are two key ingredients. If something you thought to be 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙚 turned out to be 𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙚 – how soon would you want to know? Most people answer this with a quick and defiant “𝙉𝙤𝙬!” But the reality is that it can be hard to accept the 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝. Many times, it’s easier to hold onto a belief that would be the best – if only it were 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙚. As you continue to grow – question what you know and what you think. The more you do this – the sooner you’ll land on the 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝.
