Dr. Azizur Rahman has been serving the Rockford Community and adjacent counties since 2013. He recently opened a state of the art eye clinic conveniently located at 695 North Perryville Road next to Crimson Ridge. Dr. Rahman is a very experienced fellowship trained Glaucoma and Cataract Surgeon. He did his ophthalmology training at Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan. He also did fellowship in Glaucoma at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School, Boston and Ophthalmic Pathology at The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore.
After completing his fellowship in Glaucoma he joined faculty at Vanderbilt University and Veteran Affairs in Nashville. He is currently a faculty member at University of Illinois Chicago, and also a staff surgeon at Jesse Brown and Hines VA in Chicago. He treats and performs surgery on complex glaucoma and cataract patients. He is also involved in training Ophthalmology Residents from Northwestern, Loyola, and University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Rahman’s special interest is in early detection of Glaucoma, Diabetes and Macular degeneration to prevent vision loss and blindness. He specializes in micro-invasion glaucoma surgery and laser assisted cataract
and glaucoma surgery.
He is available for consultation and collaboration with his colleague doctors, optometrists and ophthalmologists. He welcomes referrals of new patients to his clinic.
