Tuesday night marked the first official public appearance of the County’s Commissioner of Fire Services/Fire Coordinator Vini Tankasali, after a long battle with COVID-19.
Tankasali was introduced by County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus at the Firefighter One graduation at the County’s Fire Training Center and received a warm response from the crowd. Vini was diagnosed with COVID-19 in late-March and spent 10 weeks in the hospital.
The father of a one year old son, Vini endured life-threatening complications and is still recovering. However, he is back working again and is very grateful. Tankasali said he was lucky to have his strong, loving, and resilient wife, Kim, a Physician’s Assistant, by his side during his illness. Vini has also been touched by all the well-wishes and kind gestures from County Government personnel and the Fire Services community.
Everyone in the Fire Services community and County Government knows and loves Vini. We are all happy to see him back.

We are looking for a self-starter Junior IT Field Technician to deliver the desired customer service experience. The goal is to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction, maximizes customer retention and increases profitability.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Provide service and customer support during field visits or dispatches
Work in our hardware repair center repairing systems
Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks
Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
Installing hardware and software systems
Maintaining or repairing equipment
Setting up computer security measures
Configuring computer networks
Offering technical support on-site or via phone or email
Operate vehicle in a safely manner
Follow all company’s filed procedures and protocols
Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
Build positive relationships with customers
Education and Experience
Dell Certification and A+ Certification desired, but not required
Customer service skills
Customer-facing experience
Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment

Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules
Familiarity with mobile tools and applications
Individual selected must have verifiable troubleshooting and diagnostic experience working with desktops and laptops in a fast paced environment

Job involves regular travel to customer locations and both NY offices (Fishkill and Middletown) – NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation a must
