With winter approaching, here are a few tips to increase your curb appeal and make your home look better:
1. Add more lighting - In winter months, the days are shorter and it gets dark early. Adding lighting on the walkway, porch, or adding nice lantern can give help show off the front of your home.
2. Remove snow and debris - look out for fallen branches and leaves, and keep your steps free of snow.
3. Repair or replace your fence and gate - check that your gate swings freely if you have a gated fence, and look to replace or repair any latches or hinges. Also, be sure to remove any unwanted vines or clutter from your fences.

There are many reasons we want to make sure our siding is ready for winter. Damaged or old siding can lead to high utility bills, animals and insects nesting and hibernating in your walls, even water damage.

To make sure your garage is ready for winter here are a few things you can do to prepare. If they are not already, insulate your garage door and walls. Repair, replace, or upgrade your weather stripping. You can also install a weather seal on the door. Consider installing a heater in an insulated garage. If your water heater is located in the garage you may want to consider a hot water heater insulating blanket. Cover any exposed pipes you may have in the garage. And if you have not already done so, waterproof the garage floor to protect from melting snow that may be stuck on your car.

How to Climb a Ladder Safely
Be careful not to hurt yourself if there’s clutter around the base. Think about these things as well:
● Grab the ladder with both hands and climb it while facing it. Don't distract yourself with anything else.
● Your center of gravity should be between the side rails of the ladder at all times. For your safety, it’s best to maintain three points of contact while climbing. Place both hands and then step up one foot at a time.
● Keep the tools you need on a tool belt, vest, or something similar if you need to bring them with you.
● You should always check the ladder's stability before climbing or coming back down. Never move or adjust a ladder while someone is on it.
