FUN FACT FRIDAY!
Does your pet love human food just as much as you do?
This could cause a big problem in your pets life. Human food is not processed the same in the human body as it is in your pets body. Slipping your little buddy some greasy chicken, lamb chops or even a buttery cookie could cause you a emergency trip to the Veterinarians office.

WHAT ARE MAMMARY TUMORS?
Some owners come to the clinic because they are spending more time at home and they notice a lump on their pet. Mammary tumors are most of the time hormone induced and most of the time they occur in female pets that are not spayed and over the age 5 years old. These masses occur along the mammary chain(breast) of a dog or cat. These masses can range from the size of a mustard seed to the size of a softball. 50% of the time these are benign masses that cause no harm to the pet and will not reoccur if removed in the right timing. The other 50% are cancerous and can cause a significant impact on the pets health if not removed immediately.
If you ever notice a lump on your pet take them to the Vet Clinic to get it checked out to see the best approach.
Remember this occurs most commonly in female that are not spayed at 5years or older. Get your pet spayed as soon as possible.

Does your dog's breath have a foul smell to it? If so, it may be time for your pet to get a dental cleaning. It is generally recommended that large breed dogs get their teeth cleaned at least once a year. For small breed dogs, we recommend getting it done twice a year. Their teeth are closer together, which allows food, hair, and other debris to get caught in between their teeth. Over time, lack of dental care can cause dental disease, like gingivitis, and can lead to the need to remove teeth.
Below is a picture of a pet's mouth that has hair stuck in between the teeth, causing significant gingival pockets in the gums. This pet will lose most of these teeth.
Bring your pet in today for a dental health exam.

Now that the weather is cooling off, we would like to remind you how important it is to continue your pets' flea treatment. And here in Georgia it never gets cold enough, long enough to kill all the fleas in our yards. Call us today and ask how we can help you protect your fur babies.
Dental disease is more than just a cosmetic issue.
When your canine companion or feline friend has red gums, yellow teeth, and bad breath, it could be a sign of serious oral disease that could, if left untreated, lead to devastating effects on your pet’s quality of life.

Many owners express interest in breeding their pets. Here's a few facts:
After mating, you can expect babies 60-65 days later.
Pregnancy can be detected typically at day 30 by pregnancy testing, palpation by your vet, or via ultrasound. X-rays can confirm pregnancy at day 45 and onward.
How many puppies do you see?
