Influenza Vaccine - Available Now!
What: We have both intranasal (flumist) and injectable influenza vaccinations available. Flumist can be given to kids over the age of 2 yrs who do not have underlying health problems such as asthma.
Who: All kids from age 6 months to age 18 yrs can receive flu vaccines at CDA peds.
When: Available NOW!! It is recommended that kids get influenza vaccination by late fall for best seasonal protection.
Why: To protect against influenza – a virus that causes high fever, body aches, cough and congestion. The seasonal influenza vaccine provides protection from 4 strains of the influenza virus. It is important to protect kids (and adults) from this infection. In North Idaho, we typically see influenza from late fall to late winter.
Where: We have vaccinations at all 3 of our locations. If you are in our office for an appointment, please ask about getting a flu vaccine. We will hold special influenza vaccination clinics this fall – keep watching the website for details. If you would like to come in for a vaccine only visit, please call our office first so that we can direct you to the appropriate location at the right time.
