📌 Tropical Storm Update | August 22 📌
We are monitoring the storms and have a detailed emergency preparedness plan in place to try and address all aspects of an emergency situation. Our coastal communities are equipped with water, food, onsite or ready-to-deploy generators, and supplies, including an adequate supply of face coverings, hand sanitizer and disinfectants to care for residents.
At this time, there are no calls for evacuations. The plan for our communities is to shelter in place. We are taking appropriate actions to keep our communities safe throughout the storm and following the guidance and direction of authorities when it comes to potential evacuations.

Brookdale Destin hosted a live and virtual Oktoberfest event in hopes of introducing new residents to their neighbors. The event featured a beer sampling from local breweries as well as homemade German-style appetizers. What a blast!

Employee appreciation luncheon. Executive Director Elliot Bray grilled some pub burgers and beer-braised brats for all our wonderful employees here at Brookdale Destin!
Destin residents enjoyed our Veterans Day celebration. They were honored with our very own military family members. Our Executive Director’s wife and Sales and Marketing Director’s son and daughter-in-law are serving in the US Air Force, and they presented certificates to our many veteran residents.
Brookdale Destin residents had a blast making fall harvest-inspired bowls. We used faux leaves, a balloon as the mold, Modge Podge, and a gallon of Elmer's glue! Thanks, Bernadette (our Human Resources Director) for helping make this event a success. They turned out spectacular, take a look!
This month we welcome our newest resident Mildred! It just so happens that she is the mother of one of our longtime residents Pricilla. Priscilla’s son made the decision that the care we provide his mother at Brookdale Destin is the same level of care his beloved grandmother requires as well. She was warmly welcomed into our community and is living her optimum life!

We had a great turnout for our live and virtual Halloween event. The big hit was our pet parade, in which residents were invited to dress up their beloved pets and parade them around the community. Charlie the tiger king looked adorable in his outfit and stole the show. A couple of honorable mentions were Romeo with his tasteful scarf and Joey with his wacky tie.
Wine down Wednesday was spectacular! Residents were treated to a glass of wine, a small snack, and as a bonus a FREE TATTOO! A very special thanks to Angela Wagoner of Emerald Coast Hospice for providing the tattoos.
When Bill and Louise began considering senior living options for Bill's sister, Pam, the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine became a major point of interest for their next steps. Now, after receiving the vaccine and transitioning to her new community, Pam is an official resident of Brookdale Cary.
