Calana jumped into her position as receptionist in the middle of the pandemic - so we hadn’t seen her full face until we sent her out for an outdoor socially distanced photoshoot. In our industry we strive for 2020 every day. We had big plans for celebrating the year of perfect vision. Now we look back on a year with a global pandemic and the memories of the fear that the shutdown would close our doors forever. With mixed emotions we are thankful that we survived 2020 and sad for the loss of lives and livelihoods. We look forward with new eyes and perspective to 2021 and wish all of you peace and good health in the new year.

Hey contact lens wearers! Just a reminder we will take all your contact lens trash and send it off to recycle at Terra Cycle! We’ve sent in almost 20,000 CL blister packs since we started the program 2 years ago. It adds up fast! Thanks for helping us keep that plastic out of the landfill. Questions? Is it spring yet?
During a routine eye exam, Dr. LeClaire recommended a patient schedule a physical because she noted possible signs of high cholesterol. The patient called a few weeks later to let Dr. LeClaire know her doctor found a malignant melanoma during the check up. The patient will have surgery next week and is so thankful for the recommendation to get in to see her primary care doctor. When we asked if we could share her story she said yes! and asked us to remind our friends that routine physicals and screening bloodwork are covered under most insurance plans. Many insurances cover yearly eye exams also! When’s the last time you had your eyes checked? You never know what you might find out.
