We know that times are tough and mental health is just as important as physical health...especially now. During the month of November we challenge you to run, walk, bike, skip, nustep, elliptical, etc. 60 miles over the span of the month (2 miles a day). The 60 miles is in honor of the 60 men we lose every hour across the world to suicide. . . Every saturday we will post a check-in on social media to hold us all accountable and help encourage others to keep going. "If you want to go fast go alone, but if you want to go far go together" If you would like to give to the movement please click here: https://movember.com/t/achieve-more?mc=1

Our members & clients have been doing a great job of following our guidelines and facility protocols. We thank you whole heartedly for your patience and cooperation. UPDATED MASK POLICY On Friday, November 13, North Dakota state health officer issued a statewide order mandating that face coverings be work in all indoor business. This mandate requires that masks be worn at all at times when social distancing is not being followed. The health order allows the following exemptions from wearing a face mask: 1. Persons younger than school age, although parents and guardians are encouraged to have such younger children wear face coverings when and where appropriate; 2. Persons with a health, medical condition, disability or safety that prevents wearing a face covering or the compliance with this Resolution is precluded under any federal, state or local law, including the federal Americans with Disability Act (the “ADA”); 3. Persons performing job duties where a six (6) foot distance is not achievable, but a mask is inhibitory to the ability to safely and effectively perform the job duty; 4. Persons participating in voting in any federal, state or local election 5. Persons participating in athletic activities where a six (6) feet distance is not achievable, but a mask is inhibitory to the activity; 6. Persons actively consuming food or drink; 7. Persons driving a motor vehicle alone or with passengers from the driver’s household; 8. Persons receiving services that require access to the face for security, surveillance, or other purposes may temporarily remove a face covering while receiving those services; 9. Persons engaged in religious worship activities; however, face coverings are strongly encouraged; 10. Persons giving a speech or performance for broadcast or to an audience; however, those persons shall safely distance from nearby individuals. As a result of this mandate, the wearing of face-coverings is required at all Achieve Therapy & Fitness locations, with the exceptions listed above. This updated policy became effective November 14, 2020 and will remain in place until further notice. Please wear a face-covering over your mouth and nose when entering and exiting Achieve Therapy & Fitness, when participating in Achieve Therapy & Fitness programs or activities that require a mask, and in other areas of the facility when not engaged in exercise. We continue to highly encourage face mask use during lower intensity exercise. We also asking that you please follow the social distancing guidelines by maintaining a 6 feet distance from others. We know the importance of remaining physically active and the positive impact it has on our overall health and well-being. Making these changes allows us to continue providing you a venue and programming that will keep you on the path to improved health & wellness. ND Smart Restart Risk Level For your reference, and based on the risk levels listed in the ND Smart Restart Plan, we have put together a document as a reference. Please refer to this “Facility Usage Guidelines” document https://achieve-therapy.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Achieve_Facility_Usage_Guidelines_11_15_20.pdf, to determine what policies are in place based on the current risk level in the community. As we stand today, we are in the Orange or High-Risk level. The management will reassess the risk level on an ongoing basis and the risk level will be updated and posted at all facilities.

During the winter time we know getting to the gym is harder and especially this year with everything going on. So we are dedicating wednesdays to workouts. This weeks exercise is seated chair marches. -Begin sitting with your feet slightly apart. Keep your hands on the edge of the chair or on the arm rests. -Begin marching in place lifting one knee at a time up off the chair. Remember to breathe as normal. -Repeat this motion for 1 minute. Rest and repeat 2-3 more times. . . How did it go? Too hard or too easy let us know in the comments below! Happy exercising 💪
Our Park River clinic has come a long way in a few short weeks. Almost there! Stay tuned!!!
What do you hope comes back?
Planks are a good full body exercise. Begin by placing elbows on the floor (make sure they are directly under your shoulders). Keeping your forearms and knees on the floor, slowly raise yourself up so your body is in a straight line from your knees to your head. Hold this position for 30 seconds and rest. . . Maybe the knees are too easy try doing the same thing but on your toes instead! Happy exercising 💪 If you have any concerns about these exercises please consult your heath care provider.
